Learning to Love as Jesus Taught Us

Matthew 25:40
King James Version

40 And the King shall answer
and say unto them,
Verily I say unto you,
Inasmuch as ye have done it
unto one of the least of these my brethren,
ye have done it unto me.

That verse was one of the earliest I've ever encountered in Catholic school, and I'm grateful I was taught that.

Thus, it stayed with me throughout my life, even as I would fail to apply it every so often in all my years.

Now that GOD made me born again, and taking Jesus' words to heart, I've become more aware of what the LORD really meant.

In that same chapter, Jesus said:

Matthew 25:31-36
King James Version

31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory,
and all the holy angels with him,
then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
32 And before him shall be gathered all nations:
and he shall separate them one from another,
as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand,
but the goats on the left.
34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand,
Come,
ye blessed of my Father,
inherit the kingdom prepared for you
from the foundation of the world:
35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat:
I was thirsty,
and ye gave me drink:
I was a stranger,
and ye took me in:
36 Naked, and ye clothed me:
I was sick, and ye visited me:
I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

Puzzled, the people asked:

Matthew 25:37-39
King James Version

37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord,
when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee?
or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in?
or naked, and clothed thee?
39 Or when saw we thee sick,
or in prison,
and came unto thee?

And that's when Jesus declared:

Matthew 25:40
King James Version

40 And the King shall answer and say unto them,
Verily I say unto you,
Inasmuch as ye have done it
unto one of the least of these my brethren,
ye have done it unto me.

That's how Jesus will separate the "sheep", from the "goats", gathering all nations when He comes in His glory, the second time around.

All our deeds will be laid bare for all of us to see.

There is no escaping the consequences of our actions, of our desire to love, or not to love, the least of God's brethren.

Matthew 25:46
King James Version

46 And these shall go away
into everlasting punishment:
but the righteous into life eternal.

We all came from the same God.

What is so difficult to understand about loving others, and worshiping God, when Christ already gave us the blueprint for the salvation of our souls?

What could matter more than anything, but God?

There is only God.

How to Be Kind to Older People

One day we'll all get there.

One day, we'll all slow down, age, losing our memories, our hair turning white, our strength dissipating, maybe even get impoverished, wondering if we matter at all to the stronger ones.

That's how I keep things in perspective about aging.

We'll all get there.

Just a matter of time.

Sure, we still have a few more mileage to our years, but what of the much older people?

Do we know the many gifts they bring?

Do we have the patience to elicit, or help them remember the gifts they have for us?

I'm not talking about wills and stuff.

I'm talking about the wisdom, and experience, they have.

That's the real WEALTH.

They have lived far longer than we have.

Do you ever wonder what they can teach us?

I've always been a curious child, and I always love listening to older people.

It's all about joy, and respect.

Joy, at what you can learn from them.

Respect, for they have much to teach us.

Have we made time to honor these precious folks?

Do we make time, at all?

Do we sit at their feet, and encourage them to tell us about their lives?

Do we listen, with rapt attention, as they tell us stories (even tall stories) of their many adventures, from times past?

I do know of the love between grandparents, and grandchildren.

I hope we allow that a lot, for one keeps the other young; the other helps the other grow up.

I think, older people are the most interesting people on earth!

Older people are living, breathing, depositories of "history".

They've been where we never have been.

They may have lived through the wars, or many conflicts we know nothing about.

How have they managed to survive?

What would they like to teach us?

They'd make wonderful, non-academic professors, for one.

They can teach us much about life, love, work, even God.

Now that they're older, slower (maybe), less active (maybe), won't we make time to listen to them, too?

Will we allow their precious lives to waste away, with no one having cared or listened to them?

Just as we care about orphans, the sick, the disabled, the homeless, the starving, the widows, the disenfranchised in our societies, perhaps we can make time for our older kin, too.

Of course, I was shocked some homes for the aged allowed the elderly to die on their own from this covid crisis.

Can you imagine that?

Letting a person die, a person who cannot help themselves, and just letting them starve, and go that way?

We cannot abandon each other that way.

There's a little joke about how we all age.

That we all look like babies once more -- bald, and toothless -- and yes, helpless.

I honestly believe in my heart they have much to teach us.

We can all live longer lives if we are useful, if we have something to live for.

Each of us, young or old, has a gift to give the world.

Won't we take it upon our hearts, to help older people remember?

And if they can't remember, we can't force it.

But we can be there for them, making sure they are treated well, and cared for, with respect.

We all deserve to live, and age, in dignity.

Are older people to be set aside, once their "usefulness" is over?

Who "dictates" such usefulness?

May society never forget the usefulness of each person.

There's that untainted, uncorrupted part of our hearts that aims to love.

Being a researcher on self and God, and a natural care giver, I know that there's a "light" in every person, waiting to be "uncovered".

Ideally, that light would be revealed by that person himself.

But what if, he couldn't, or wouldn't?

Would someone, in any part of the world, or community, or family, care to take take that bushel out, so the "light" may be revealed?

15 Neither do men light a candle,
and put it under a bushel,
but on a candlestick;
and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men,
that they may see your good works,
and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 5:15-16
King James Version

Let us honor each other.

Let us honor the God in each other.

God created us all.

God must live in each one of us.

Let us remember the forgotten people in our household, our communities, our countries, our world.

Every human being has a purpose, and a value.

We are all precious in the eyes of the LORD.

3 The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying,
Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.

Jeremiah 31:3
King James Version

How to be a Kind Daughter

What grows in your soul?

What matters most to you these days?

Do your friends matter more, than your parents, or siblings?

Granted you have a family to come home to, do you appreciate them, too?

Or are you like me, when I was young, that I wasn’t really keen on looking after my kid sisters, when perhaps, I could be with my friends?

We all go through that stage.

We were not born saints.

We are fallible human beings who will encounter many tests, and challenges, along the way.

Our life, and reputation, will be at stake.

Many people feed upon young women.

Many organizations, and institutions, feed upon ALL types of women.

Check advertising and media alone.

You’d see how women are being treated.

They surely aren’t being honored.

They are being manipulated.

The Spirit of God in each one of us doesn’t honor young or older women.

If we had Christ in our hearts, we would not treat women that way – as bodies, as tools, as soul-less beings.

If we love our own mothers, if we love the mother of Christ, we can love ourselves, and other women properly, too.

But love and respect starts from within.

Only God can help us see things clearly.

Christ shows the Way:

“A new commandment I give unto you,
That ye love one another;
as I have loved you, t
hat ye also love one another.”

John 13:34
King James Version

When you love God with all your heart, you can truly love others as well.

Your love is real, and not questionable.

Your love can be trusted.

If you want respect, then respect yourself first.

If you want love, then love God first.

The Holy Spirit – the Teacher of All Things – will show you the way to the LORD.

 “But the Comforter,
which is the Holy Ghost,
whom the Father will send in my name,
he shall teach you all things,
and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”

John 14:26
King James Version

Always pray for Jesus to guide you – EVERY step of the way.

There is no other SOURCE for real help.

Only Jesus can guide you.

When you are in danger, or are doubtful, just pray to Jesus to please guide you, that you follow His Way, and I promise you, even before you’ve finished your prayer, you’ll be guided to what you must do.

Does personal beauty, success, or money matter so much?

There will always be more beautiful, successful, and wealthier people than you.

Align yourself with God, instead.

The CREATOR loves His own.

You were born perfect in His eyes; why would you want botox?

Why would you want to plaster your face with thick make-up, or disfigure your body, when you are perfect as you are?

Has the LORD created an error in creating you, just as you are?

Funny thought, huh?

That the CREATOR would ever err.

Nope, not on my life.

Your happiness can be secured in CHRIST alone.

Seek no other source of happiness, for everything falls short of Jesus.

Let Jesus guide your heart to true love, true work, true appreciation, true beauty, and true happiness.

Only Jesus can give you what others can’t.

The LOVE that your soul seeks.

In turn, God will teach you how to love others, like your parents, your siblings, and everyone else around you.

God will give you the clear, spiritual eyes to see.

And you will never be lost again.

Daughter, you have been found!

How to be a Kind Son

Technically, it ought to be easy to be a kind son, for, without your parents, you wouldn’t be here.

Sure, some of you say, you wish you had not been born.

In the midst of your angst and inner chaos, fed by the destructive spirits not of God, you are made to think that way.

Whether your parents loved each other, or loved you, doesn’t really matter, if you were to consider a point I’m about to say.

Every child of God was born on earth, for a purpose.

And your job, as a human being, as a child of God, is to find that purpose.

What does it matter that you find it near the end of your life?

The important thing is you find it, and make use of it.

You will be a man, you will marry maybe, and you will have kids of your own, if you so choose.

But first, choose CHRIST.

In the midst of your heartache, confusion, or depression, choose Christ.

In the midst of your success, and happiness, may you remember Christ.

We cannot be truly kind at anything, unless we have Christ in our hearts first.

If we don’t, then, we are of the world, the very world that crucified Christ.

It’s either CHRIST, or nothing.

You cannot go around that law to happiness, and eternal life.

Only with God can you have everything.

If you feel down, are disappointed, even disgusted with life, your parents, and others, that’s the most beautiful and timely moment to listen to the Spirit of God in you.

The Holy Spirit will guide you back to God, to your real FATHER.

Your parents are your guardians on earth, and ideally, they also have accepted Christ as their SAVIOR.

If they haven’t, you can expect trouble.

Only those who have accepted Christ, will make it easy for others.

They will not cause you harm.

They will always make sure you’re on the right path.

They’re the ones to go to when you are lost or confused.

It could be your parents, your aunts or uncles, your friends, or co-workers – God can be found anywhere, and everywhere.

Do you really think God would allow a hair on your head to be harmed?

“But there shall not an hair of your head perish.”

Luke 21:18
King James Version

Have nothing of the false promises of the world, whether in life, or in work.

Only have Jesus in your heart, and He will teach you to be kind.

Kindness, sometimes, is the will to walk away.

Walk away from those who seek your destruction.

You are doing them a favor by not having you as their target.

Walk back to God instead.

And if you are, and have, then all the better!

You can teach others to be like you – one who loves the FATHER, your true parent.

But honor your own parents, too.

It is in God’s commandment.

“Honour thy father and thy mother:
that thy days may be long upon the land
which the Lord thy God giveth thee.”

Exodus 20:12
King James Version

Can you imagine how your mother carried you in her body, for nine months?

Can you imagine how her life hung in the balance, as she was giving birth to you?

You didn’t know that, did you?

Can you imagine how your parents scraped money together – especially if they had none to begin with – just so you could have food, clothing, shelter, and an education?

Your friends may not be able to give you that – for the long term.

Your parents have.

It is right that we have gratitude for our parents, and acknowledge EVERY sacrifice.

Only parents can really sacrifice the way they do.

You’ll have your turn, when you become a parent.

You’ll see how it all works.

And, by the GRACE and GUIDANCE of God, you’ll make a wonderful parent yourself!

For now, face the world in peace, and walk with God in your heart!

That will give you the grateful heart you need.

How to be a Kind Parent

Your children were given to you as a gift from God.

Sure, you have your wife, or your husband, and you had that child.

Perhaps, you even had many children.

But why do you think you became parents?

Because you love each other, and want a child to carry your names?

So your blood line will live on?

So someone will carry on the businesses you built?

So you may live vicariously, through them?

Was it to project your own ambitions upon your kids?

To create clones of yourself?

To pursue dynasties and propagate that wealth?

To lead them to life and work, without Jesus guiding you?

You surely have heard that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life:

 “Jesus saith unto him,
I am the way,
the truth,
and the life:
no man cometh unto the Father,
but by me.”

John 14:6
King James Version

Of course, you cannot think that way, unless you have God in your hearts.

You cannot be a reliable and trusted guide for your children, unless you yourself have accepted Christ as your SAVIOR.

You also have to become a true born-again Christian.

There are many Christians, and there is the true born-again Christian, who desires to serve God alone.

This Christian aims to have nothing of the world, but only of God.

That is the path I have taken.

There were no bells and whistles, and worldly rituals, when I chose God.

He led me to two, defining videos about the destructive path America had taken, and immediately, my soul wanted the LORD.

I became a born-again Christian a day before my own birthday.

Thus, I am TWICE born.

And my second birth is the real birth.

As  Christian writer, I attest to the joy and beauty of serving Christ alone.

All my days are filled with anticipation of the LORD.

I am child, walking alongside Jesus, swinging our arms together, my hand in His, happy to be in His presence, delighting in that Presence, confident in His love, and eager to play, or to learn.

Oftentimes, I'd sit at His feet, listening to EVERYTHING He had to say.

My relationship with Jesus is as simple as that.

Child-like.

If you want to be a kind parent, you must love God with all your heart first.

Only then can you love your child best.

For God loved you first.

And you returned that love.

Learn to love God first, before you decide to become a parent.

When you love God first, through the teachings of Jesus, you will learn to love yourself, and others, in a way that God wants us to love each other.

That’s a great foundation for love to be born from.

Please don’t bring a child into this world, unless you have learned to love God first.

All children come from God, and we must honor each soul.

They are not here to carry our dynasties, or whatever foolish projections of self, and ambition, we have on them.

The greatest parents are those who lead their children back to God, with the full understanding of the Laws of Christ.

There is great responsibility in becoming a parent, and our hearts, minds, bodies, and spirits must be infused with the Spirit of God first.

Every citizen of the world came from such a core family, you and your kids.

That’s how communities, and nations, are formed.

It all starts with you.

As it did, with Adam and Eve.
